Harrisburg, PA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-81 at Exit 61 Leaves Several Injured

Harrisburg, PA (July 16, 2025) – A serious multi-vehicle crash occurred on I-81 Northbound at Exit 61 for PA 944 (Wertzville Road) in Harrisburg on the afternoon of July 16, leaving several individuals injured. Initial reports from the Pennsylvania State Police confirm that multiple vehicles were involved in the collision around 2:30 p.m.

Emergency medical personnel responded promptly, administering on-site aid to several victims. Two individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment. The names and conditions of those injured have not been released at this time. The crash caused significant traffic delays along the northbound stretch of I-81, with backup extending over two miles as responders worked to investigate and clear the wreckage.

Debris from the crash was scattered across the roadway, adding to the delays. The Pennsylvania State Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
