Dauphin Co., PA – Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-81 S/Exit 72 Causes Injuries

Dauphin County, PA (October 8, 2025) – Authorities responded to a multi-vehicle crash that left several people injured on Tuesday afternoon, October 7, on Interstate 81 southbound 0.3 miles south of Exit 72 toward Paxtonia and Linglestown. According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the accident involved multiple passenger vehicles that collided during heavy traffic conditions. The impact caused one car to spin out, blocking the middle lane, while others sustained moderate to severe damage.

Troopers and medical teams arrived shortly after 3:15 p.m. to assist victims and assess their injuries. Several individuals were treated on-site, with one person being transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

Authorities closed part of the southbound lanes to investigate and clear the roadway. Pennsylvania State Police confirmed that all lanes were reopened later in the evening. The cause of the collision remains under active investigation.
