Syracuse, NY – Injuries Reported in I-81 SB Crash at Spencer St. Exit

Syracuse, NY (July 10, 2025) – A traffic collision with reported injuries occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, July 10th, on I-81 southbound near the Spencer Street/Catawba Street exit (Exit 21) in Syracuse. According to the New York State Department of Transportation, the accident occurred shortly after noon and involved multiple vehicles in the southbound lanes. The crash led to immediate traffic congestion in the area, with emergency responders quickly dispatched to the scene. Several individuals sustained injuries, though the extent and severity have not yet been fully disclosed. The Syracuse Police Department confirmed that at least one person was transported to Upstate University Hospital for further care. Others were evaluated and treated at the scene by paramedics.
