Harrisburg, PA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-81 S/Exit 47B Leaves Several Injured

Harrisburg, PA (July 11, 2025) – On Friday, July 11, a multi-vehicle crash resulted in injuries along the southbound lanes of Interstate 81 at Exit 47B, near PA 34 North – Hanover Street. The Pennsylvania State Police responded to the scene shortly after the accident was reported during the early afternoon hours.

Emergency medical teams arrived promptly and treated multiple individuals on-site. At least three people sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. Others were treated at the scene and released. Debris from the damaged vehicles was scattered across the roadway, prompting officials to divert traffic while the scene was cleared temporarily. Tow trucks were called in to remove the heavily damaged vehicles, and traffic was fully restored two hours later. The Pennsylvania State Police are conducting a full investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
