Syracuse, NY – Hit-and-Run Crash with Injuries on I-81 NB Near Exit 401

Syracuse, NY (October 18, 2025) – State troopers responded on Thursday, October 16, to a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 81 northbound near the 401 interchange in Syracuse.

According to initial reports, a grey Ford collided with a Mercedes before fleeing the scene. One or more occupants from the Mercedes reported injuries following the impact. Emergency medical personnel arrived to treat those hurt, while law enforcement began searching for the vehicle responsible.

The crash caused temporary traffic delays along the northbound lanes of I-81 as authorities worked to clear the roadway and gather evidence. Details about the severity of the injuries and the condition of the victims have not yet been released.
