Greenfield Twp., PA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-81 SB Sends Several to Hospital

Greenfield Township, PA (November 26, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision on I-81 southbound sent several people to the hospital on Wednesday evening, November 26. The crash occurred just before 5:30 p.m. between Exit 202 (PA-107 – Tompkinsville/Fleetville) and Exit 201 (PA-438 – East Benton), according to the Lackawanna County Communications Center.

Pennsylvania State Police troopers were dispatched immediately and arrived to find multiple vehicles with moderate to severe damage. Officials confirmed that several individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Some victims were treated at the scene, while others were transported to a nearby hospital for additional medical care.

At this time, investigators are still working to determine how many vehicles were involved and what factors contributed to the collision. Greenfield Township Police are leading the investigation and are expected to release more details as they become available.
