Cumberland Co., PA – Injuries in Crash on I-81 Near Exit 29
Cumberland County, PA (October 10, 2025) – A serious crash shut down all southbound lanes of Interstate 81 in Cumberland County on Friday afternoon, October 10, causing significant delays and sending at least one person to the hospital.
The collision occurred shortly after 4:15 p.m. near Exit 29, prompting a significant emergency response. According to the Cumberland County Department of Public Safety, multiple ambulances and rescue crews were dispatched to the scene, and at least one injured individual was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The total number of injured victims and the severity of their injuries have not yet been confirmed.
Emergency personnel worked quickly to move the damaged vehicles to the shoulder, allowing traffic to resume by around 5:00 p.m. However, backups continued, with delays extending through Exit 37 (PA 233, Newville) and slow movement near Exit 44 (PA 465, Allen Road).
