Cicero, NY – Several Injured in Multi-Vehicle Wreck on I-81 SB at Rte 481 Exit

Cicero, NY (July 18, 2025) – Multiple people were injured on the afternoon of July 18 following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 Southbound near the Route 481 interchange (Exit 29N-S) in Cicero. The New York State Police reported that the incident occurred shortly before 2:00 p.m. and involved at least three vehicles. Troopers arriving at the scene found several individuals with visible injuries. Paramedics evaluated the victims on-site, and two were transported to Upstate University Hospital for further treatment. Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening. The crash led to partial lane closures and heavy traffic delays stretching back several miles as emergency personnel worked to manage the scene. The New York State Police have launched a formal investigation into the cause of the crash.
