Town of Adams, NY – Wrong-Way Crash on I-81 Sends Two to Hospital
Town of Adams, NY (November 10, 2025) – Two people were hospitalized after a wrong-way collision involving a camper on Interstate 81 northbound near the Adams on-ramp on Saturday night, November 8. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, 75-year-old David Ryan of Missouri was driving a camper southbound in the northbound lanes after mistakenly following GPS directions. The camper collided head-on with a Jeep Wrangler driven by 21-year-old Jaydeen Fong of Fort Drum.
The Jeep overturned multiple times before landing in the median. Both Fong and his passenger, identified as Cristi Gines-Paola, sustained serious injuries and were transported to a hospital in Syracuse for further evaluation. Ryan, the camper’s driver, was uninjured. State police remained on the scene for several hours to document the crash and clear the wreckage. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine whether charges will be filed.
