Sullivan Co., TN – Two Injured in Collision on I-81/MM 63

Sullivan County, TN (October 2, 2025) – Two people were injured on Wednesday afternoon, October 1, in a multi-vehicle crash along I-81 in Sullivan County. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the collision occurred just before 4:30 p.m. near mile marker 63.

Responding officers reported that a 2012 Chevrolet 1500 pickup had come to a stop in the travel lane due to congestion ahead. Moments later, a 2022 Ford Maverick traveling behind it failed to slow in time and struck the Chevrolet from behind. The impact caused significant rear-end damage to the Chevrolet and front-end damage to the Ford, leaving debris scattered across the roadway.

THP troopers and Sullivan County EMS responded to the scene. Both drivers sustained injuries and were evaluated at the scene before being transported to a nearby medical facility for additional treatment. Their current conditions have not been released.
