Scott Township, PA – I-81 NB Crash Causes Injuries in Lackawanna Co 

Scott Township, PA (August 12, 2024) – A serious crash on I-81 in Lackawanna County resulted in injuries on the evening of August 12th. The incident took place around 6:20 p.m. along the northbound lanes of I-81 between Exit 194 and Exit 197 in Scott Township, leading to a complete shutdown of the roadway. Pennsylvania State Police from the Dunmore barracks responded to the scene, finding several vehicles involved in the collision. Emergency personnel worked tirelessly to manage the situation, providing immediate care to the injured and clearing the wreckage from the highway. The injured individuals were taken to nearby hospitals for further treatment. Crews worked to reopen the lanes, which were cleared just before 10 p.m. The Pennsylvania State Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
