Rockbridge County, VA – Fatal Accident on I-81 MM 220 Claims One Life

Rockbridge County, VA (October 14, 2023) – A tragic accident occurred in Rockbridge County, Virginia, on Saturday, October 14th, claiming the life of one individual. The incident occurred on the southbound lanes of I-81 at Mile Marker 220 around 5:02 p.m.

According to Virginia State Police, the accident transpired when an SUV had come to a stop on the right shoulder of the interstate. It was at this point that a tractor-trailer collided with the stationary SUV, resulting in a devastating crash.

Regrettably, the impact had fatal consequences, and one person lost their life as a result of this tragic collision. Their identity has not been disclosed at this time.
