Montgomery Co., VA – Injury Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-81 S Near Exit 109

Montgomery County, VA (May 28, 2025) – A crash involving multiple vehicles led to reported injuries on the southbound lanes of I-81 near mile marker 110.3, just north of Exit 109 for VA-177, on Tuesday, May 28. According to the Virginia State Police, the accident occurred shortly after 9:30 a.m. Several occupants sustained injuries as a result of the collision. Emergency medical personnel arrived shortly after the crash and provided first aid at the scene. Two individuals with moderate injuries were taken to a nearby hospital for additional evaluation and care. Their conditions have not been disclosed, but authorities confirmed that none of the injuries appeared life-threatening. The Virginia State Police are currently investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
