Martinsburg, WV – Two Killed, Two Injured in Multi-Truck Collision on I-81
Martinsburg, WV (March 13, 2025) – A serious multi-vehicle crash involving three pickup trucks on I-81 in Martinsburg left two people dead and two others injured on the afternoon of March 12. Martinsburg, WV – Two Killed, Two Injured in Multi-Truck Collision on I-81According to West Virginia State Police, the accident occurred just after 4:30 p.m. near the Apple Harvest Drive exit. A northbound Dodge pickup, driven by Steven Souders, 64, of Warfordsburg, PA, reportedly crossed the median and entered the southbound lanes, striking another Dodge truck operated by David Cain, 59, of Kernersville, NC. The impact caused Souders’ truck to continue forward and crash head-on into a Ford pickup driven by Ronnie Dick, 33, of Inwood, WV, causing the vehicle to overturn. Sadly, both Souders and Dick were pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of their injuries. Cain sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while his passenger, Catherine Cain, 63, was airlifted to Inova Hospital in Fairfax, VA, for emergency treatment. She was last reported to be in stable condition. Officials are still reviewing the circumstances that led to the tragic crash and are asking any witnesses to come forward.
