Mahanoy City, PA – Five-Vehicle Crash on I-81 at MM 131 Hurts Two
Mahanoy City, PA (March 10, 2025) – A five-vehicle collision on Interstate 81 early Monday morning, March 10, resulted in injuries to two individuals, including a pedestrian. The accident occurred at mile marker 131 near Mahanoy City around 6:02 a.m., prompting a response from multiple emergency agencies. Schuylkill County Communications Center officials confirmed that one of the injured individuals was a pedestrian. However, authorities were unable to determine whether the pedestrian was walking along the highway or had exited a vehicle before being struck.
Fire crews from Mahanoy City, Ryan Township, Delano, and Frackville responded to the scene alongside EMS teams from Frackville, Shenandoah, and Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton. Medical personnel provided on-site aid before transporting the injured individuals to a nearby medical facility for further treatment. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
