Luzerne Co., PA – Multi-Vehicle Crash With Injuries on I-81 SB/Pittston

Luzerne County, PA (September 24, 2025) – An injury crash involving multiple vehicles occurred Tuesday, September 24, on Interstate 81 southbound, about 0.8 miles south of Exit 175A (PA 315 South/Turnpike – Pittston). The Pennsylvania State Police reported that several vehicles collided during the morning commute, leaving at least one person injured.

Emergency medical services responded to the scene to assist the victims, with one individual transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. The extent of the injuries has not been released. Traffic backups stretched through the area as troopers blocked off the affected lanes for investigation and cleanup. Multiple tow trucks were requested to clear the wreckage from the roadway.
