Lebanon Co., PA – Multi-Vehicle Crash with Injuries on I-81/Fort Indiantown Gap

Lebanon County, PA (May 9, 2025) – On the afternoon of May 9th, a multi-vehicle collision on I-81 northbound between Exit 85B (Fort Indiantown Gap) and Exit 89 (I-78 East toward Allentown) resulted in injuries, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PDOT). The crash occurred during daylight hours and involved several vehicles, prompting an immediate response from state troopers and emergency medical personnel. Northbound traffic was slowed significantly as crews arrived on the scene to assist the injured and clear the roadway. Multiple individuals sustained injuries in the crash, though the exact number and severity have not yet been confirmed by officials.  The responding authorities managed the scene and began an investigation into the cause of the collision. Drivers were advised to use alternate routes during the clearance effort, which lasted several hours into the evening. The Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
