Harrisburg, PA – Multiple Injured in I-81 NB Crash Near Paxtonia Exit

Harrisburg, PA (May 8, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash on the northbound lanes of I-81, one mile south of Exit 72A to US-22 (Paxtonia), left several people injured on the afternoon of May 7. According to reports from the Pennsylvania State Police, the accident occurred during a busy travel period and involved three vehicles. The crash caused a significant disruption to traffic flow and forced authorities to temporarily shut down the affected lanes to attend to the injured. Emergency medical personnel arrived promptly and administered first aid at the scene. Several individuals were transported to nearby medical facilities for additional treatment. While the exact nature of their injuries has not been disclosed, officials confirmed that they were not life-threatening. Troopers with the Pennsylvania State Police are leading the investigation.
