Hampden Twp., PA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-81/Exit 59 w/Injuries
Hampden Township, PA (February 14, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer caused injuries on Interstate 81 in Cumberland County on February 14. The crash occurred in the southbound lanes near Exit 59 (Route 581/Route 11/Camp Hill) just before 9:00 a.m. Emergency dispatch reported that two individuals were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Their current conditions remain unknown.
The Cumberland County Police Department and local fire crews responded swiftly to the scene, providing on-site assistance. The tractor-trailer, which was carrying an unspecified load, leaked fluids onto the interstate, prompting PennDOT to spread sand to mitigate the hazard. The southbound lanes were partially closed for several hours as crews worked to clear debris and investigate the cause of the crash.
