Greene Co., TN – Fatal 3-Vehicle Collision on I-81 Near MM 41

Greene County, TN (May 18, 2025) – A deadly early-morning collision involving two semi-trucks and a passenger vehicle occurred along Interstate 81 near mile marker 41 in Greene County on May 16. The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) confirmed that the crash occurred around 5 a.m. and resulted in one fatality. According to their preliminary report, the crash involved a chain reaction collision between the three vehicles. Emergency responders arrived quickly to secure the scene and provide aid to the victims. While full details remain limited, one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Others involved were assessed by medical personnel, though it remains unclear whether they were transported for additional treatment. THP troopers are continuing to investigate potential causes.
