Fort Chiswell, VA – Victims Injured in Auto Accident at I-81 & I-77

Fort Chiswell, VA (March 17, 2023) – Fort Chiswell experienced a car accident on Thursday, March 16, and at least one person was hurt.

In Wythe County, at around 4:32 p.m., a car accident happened on Interstate 81 NB close to Interstate 77 Exit 72. Injuries were reported in the accident, and paramedics were on duty to help those hurt in the crash.

The route was shut down for several hours as a result of the collision. Tow trucks were sent to clear the debris, and the injured were sent to neighboring hospitals for care.

At this moment, nothing new has been disclosed.

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
