East Hanover Township, PA (September 1, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on I-81 South around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, involving a motorcycle and a car. The crash led to the closure of the southbound lanes at mile marker 82, with traffic being detoured at exit 85 until the lanes reopened at 9:20 p.m., according to PennDOT. The Pennsylvania State Police responded to the scene, confirming that at least one fatality occurred due to the crash. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, as authorities are still notifying the family.
