Dunmore, PA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-81 at MM188 Leaves Several Injured

Dunmore, PA (March 17, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 81 near mile marker 188 resulted in multiple injuries on March 17. The crash occurred on both the northbound and southbound lanes in Lackawanna County. Pennsylvania State Police and local emergency crews responded to the accident, which involved several vehicles near the Dunmore/Throop exit. Upon arrival, first responders assisted the injured victims at the scene while assessing the extent of the damage.

Authorities confirmed that multiple people sustained injuries, though the exact number of victims and the severity of their injuries remain unclear.  Traffic on I-81 came to a near standstill as crews worked to clear the wreckage and assist those involved. Police have not yet released details on what led to the crash, but an investigation is currently underway.
