Chambersburg, PA – Fatal Motorcycle Crash on I-81/MM 16 and 14 Claims One Life
Chambersburg, PA (August 10, 2024) – On the evening of August 10th, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred on I-81 southbound between mile markers 16 and 14, prompting a swift response from the Pennsylvania State Police and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office. The crash, which involved a motorcycle and a car, was reported at around 8:25 p.m. Upon arrival, authorities found the motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries. Despite immediate efforts by first responders, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car involved in the accident remained at the scene and cooperated with the ongoing investigation. The southbound lanes of I-81 were temporarily closed to allow for the investigation and cleanup, causing traffic delays. The Pennsylvania State Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to this tragic accident.
