Carlisle, PA – Two-Car Crash on I-81 near Exit 48 Sends One to Hospital 

Carlisle, PA (September 4, 2024) – A two-car crash on I-81 near Exit 48 in Cumberland County sent one person to the hospital and resulted in the closure of all southbound lanes on the afternoon of September 4th. State Police were dispatched to the scene around 1:23 p.m. after reports of a flipped vehicle on the left side of the highway. PennDOT confirmed that the vehicle had overturned, blocking traffic and causing significant delays in the area. Emergency medical responders provided on-site care to the injured before transporting them to a local hospital for further treatment. Their condition is currently stable. Police investigators continue to assess the cause of the accident.
