Bristol, VA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-81 Leaves Five Injured

Bristol, VA (December 14, 2025) – Several people were injured on Friday, December 14, following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 in Bristol. The Bristol, Virginia, Fire Department reported the collision occurred around 9:47 p.m. near mile marker 6.3. First responders discovered four vehicles involved upon arrival.

Firefighters assessed each vehicle and confirmed five individuals sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious. All injured victims were transported to Bristol Regional Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment. Ambulances from the Bristol Life Saving Crew and Washington County assisted with patient transport.

The crash caused significant traffic delays as responders worked to clear the scene. The roadway reopened approximately two and a half hours later. The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Virginia State Police.
