Botetourt Co., VA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-81 NB at MM 165.9, Injuries

Botetourt County, VA (March 9, 2025) – A crash involving multiple vehicles occurred on March 9 in the northbound lanes of I-81 at mile marker 165.9, approximately 2.6 miles south of Route 614 (Exit 168).  According to the Virginia State Police, all northbound travel lanes were blocked due to the collision and the presence of emergency response vehicles. Several individuals sustained injuries, with first responders providing immediate on-site medical assistance and transportation to a local medical facility. Crews worked diligently to clear the roadway and restore normal traffic flow. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
