Augusta County, VA – Crash with Injuries on I-81 SB/MM 217.2

Augusta County, VA (June 3, 2024) – A serious crash involving multiple vehicles occurred on the southbound lanes of I-81 at Mile Marker 217.2, just south of Rt 654 Exit 217, on June 3rd. All southbound travel lanes were blocked as emergency vehicles and involved cars obstructed the roadway. Virginia State Police and Augusta County Fire and Rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. They provided immediate medical assistance to the injured before transporting them to Augusta Health for further treatment.  Investigations into the cause of the crash are underway.
